(Golf) Sweater Weather

Golfing in New York definitely has an expiration date as the months get colder, but that expiration date can be extended with the right gear. Now, golf gear for the ladies is always a challenge. The women’s golf selection at any store or pro shop is, first off one-tenth the size of the men’s, then there is the issue of styles and fits or lack thereof, and finally, there is the lovely color palette and pattern selection that makes me think designers only believe women like to show up to the course looking like a Monet painting threw up all over them.

The problem only gets worse when looking for cold gear because, well there are maybe four or five options, I guess people think the ladies don’t want to bundle up and keep playing as the days get cooler. So, we gals must be creative when building our golf wardrobes. Here are a few ideas to help you build out that fall and winter golf wardrobe.

Pants & Joggers They key to a good golf pant, in my opinion, is a nice slim fit and good athletic materials allowing freedom of movement.

Long Sleeves

Layers are key when getting out there during the chilly months, start with a base layer and then add something heavier.

Crewnecks & Hoodies Whether you're adding a crewneck or jumping on board the new #hoodiesforgolf trend you can't go wrong bringing a heavier top with you to the course.

Jackets & Vests

Stop the wind chill and add more pockets to your outfit with a jacket or vest, or both if you want.

Hats

Most of your body heat escapes through your head, so keep that noggin warm and cozy with some winter hats, your baseball caps will see you in the spring.
